01/17/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Antonio, TX Colton is a solid, athletic, 2-way player with a good skill set. In the OF, Colton has good pre-pitch actions, active feet, and he fields athletically. He has a quick 1st step to the ball, he takes proper angles, and his exchange is clean with a strong/loose arm to his cut off man. On the mound, Colton has good balance over the rubber, on-time hand separation, and he keeps his eyes on target. He has good direction, a controlled landing toward home, and he works on a downhill plane. If Colton can use more lower body, and get more front arm extension, abilities on the mound can improve. Offensively, Colton has an open stance, a short stride, and fast bat speed. He is a strong hitter with good strength and pop to the pull side. Colton will need to work on rhythm/timing, barrel accuracy, and more lower 1/2 for hitting numbers to spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
