08/05/2013 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 James continues to show as a 2B/RHP but currently projects best at 2B for the next level. Feet are active and he works to square balls up showing clean hands. He moves well laterally, flashing range and communicates well in the MIF. For grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack balls, play through while presenting hands more out front and improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path, displaying a simple approach. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 2 for 7. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 69-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with slight break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.
