10/24/2021 - All-In Membership - San Angelo, TX James is a RHP who will graduate in 2022. Tall frame with strength present and room to add throughout. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher works with smooth rhythm and has a loose arm action. He gets a good rear hip coil and stays upright throughout his delivery. He challenges hitters with a FB that sits 82-84mph with arm side sink, a 9/3 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup with good sink that he throws with FB arm speed. SL was best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and even stance. Starts with a small hand load and hits into a firm front side. A direct barrel path enables him to hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 91mph during BP. James recently committed to powerhouse Texas JUCO Howard College. We look forward to seeing his success at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
