Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

06/24/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (MS) Jamey is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who showcased his skills during the Select Training at the CWS. On the mound, Jamey gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Jamey operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with good movement. Breaking ball sits from 54-58mph with 10-4 break. Accelerating his arm more through his release can help Jamey improve his pitch velocity. In the field, Jamey takes good angles and makes the routine plays. He throws from a 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Jamey can field ground balls more efficiently by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a level swing with good extension, driving the ball to his pull side. Engaging his lower half more can help Jamey generate more pop off the barrel. Overall, Jamey is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/29/2021 - All-In Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Jamey is an athletic RHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth/fluid actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, he shows a four-pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. He throws a sinker with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. With 5 years to further develop, Jamey has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
