07/07/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory's National West Showcase Jamir is an athletic infield prospect with quick feet (6.70 in the 60) and a quick arm (90 mph raw arm strength). He fills an excellent profile as a switch-hitter who can play in the middle of the field. He has rhythm in his stroke from both sides and uses his hands to control the barrel well from the right side. As a defender, Jamir has the quick first step and good range you would expect along with sure hands and natural overall actions. His glove-to-hand and release are quick and fluid and he has plenty of arm to finish plays. This is an upside prospect with a bright future.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jamir is an athletic and talented 2021 SS switch hitting prospect. At SS, Jamir is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and creates good angles to the ball. He works from the ground up and has smooth actions when fielding. He has a strong arm and makes accurate throws. From the left side of the plate, Jamir starts in a relaxed stance, he has a simple load, and shows good plate discipline. From the right side of the plate, Jamir starts in a crouched stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and rotates his backside. Hes aggressive on the fastball and looks to drive the ball to the pull side. Jamir is highly motivated and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jamir is a lean built SS/2B prospect who has a talented skill set. Offensively, Jamir is a good switch-hitter who shows slightly better from the left side. He has an open setup with loose hands. Jamir shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He rotates his core and engages his lower half throughout his swing. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball producing hard contact. Jamir is a line drive type hitter who can drive the ball to the pull side. In the field, Jamir has an athletic, relaxed ready position. He moves with effective angles and covers good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low, athletic position. Jamir has a good exchange and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate and he is developing arm strength. Overall, Jamir is a well-rounded prospect who has a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
