Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/OFPosition Projection

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jamison is a very talented two way 2019 prospect out of Texas. This strong bodied RHP/OF is explosive with his delivery on the mound, works with a good pace and keeps his eyes down on his target. Fastball has solid natural movement and works into the upper 80s. Good arm action helps keep hitters off balance as he mixes in a Slider (74-77mph) that gradually breaks across the strike zone. Takes very good routes in the outfield, is always ready and he can make plays. Covers a good bit of ground for such a solid framed kid but he is very athletic and agile (7.27s 60yd dash). Sets up athletically at the plate, has good rhythm and explodes his body through the ball. Takes aggressive line drive hacks and drove out a ball with a 94mph exit velocity. The barrel works to the ball quickly and direct. Look for Simmons to continue to solidify himself as a nice two way guy at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
