01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jared continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. On the mound, Jared operates with a smooth delivery and pounds the zone with an advanced three pitch mix. His fastball tops out at 95mph with good arm side run, showing plus command with the pitch. Slider sits from 77-83mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 80-84mph with good arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. As one of the few underclassmen to be named a 2018 Under Armour All-American, Jared continues to show that he is among the top pitching prospects in his class.

10/28/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Jared was dominant at the Baseball Factory Under Armour Futures West event. He struck out the first 5 hitters he faced and 6 of the 8 total hitters that came to bat against him. He used an athletic delivery with good tempo and a clean arm stroke to easily run his fastball up to 93 mph. That pitch had late tail and he threw it effectively to both sides of the plate. Jared also mixed in a tight breaking ball that had late lateral break and a sinking change with good arm speed. Jared threw a high volume of strikes and aggressively attacked hitters with a confident demeanor on the mound. Jared also showed well at 3B and swung the bat with authority. Only a 2020, Jared has an extremely bright future with the look of a front-of-the-rotation arm.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
