Official Scouting Report

06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Jaret is a lean, athletic built 3B/RHP prospect who has high upside and a talented all-around skill set. In the field, Jaret plays with fluid footwork and agile actions to cover good ground in each direction laterally. He fields the ball athletically with soft hands leading into a clean exchange. Jaret does a nice job play with momentum through the baseball and has a quick release. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action showing consistent throws across the diamond. As a left-handed hitter, Jaret has a tall, square setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Jaret shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path getting good extension at contact. He has a middle of the field approach and has power to the pull side. On the mound, Jaret has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a loose arm action and extends through his release staying square to home plate with a controlled landing. He does a nice job rotating with his core towards his target and effectively uses his front side. Jaret has arm side run on his fastball at 86-89 MPH. He also features a medium breaking slider and deceptive changeup with sink action. Overall, Jaret is a talented ball player on both sides of the ball and can certainly be an impactful player at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
