Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

10/19/2022 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic - Under Class (2025-2026) Jarrett is an athletic 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Easton Fall Classic. In the field, Jarrett works behind the ball and fields in a square position. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and hits against a strong front side, driving the ball to his pull side. On the mound, Jarrett gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Jarrett operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph. Breaking ball sits at 58mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 65mph. Overall, Jarrett is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jarrett is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame athletic build with strength present with a lot of room to fill out. At 3B, he passes the eye test and has a good arm. Showed good range and soft hands as he fields from a low fielding position. Short arm action into a high 3/4 release point with consistent throws. On-line throws, with a quick release, to first base with a recorded arm velocity up to 78 mph. On the mound, he showed a clean arm with simple mechanics. Late drive to plate who pitches to contact. Jarrett works off of a FB that sat 72-73 mph with slight movement. Mixed in a developing 11/5 breaking ball that he uses to keep hitters off-balance. Right-handed hitter starts with a open and athletic stance. Quiet head enables him to track pitches well and battles with 2 strikes. Has a good idea of what pitch he is looking for. Showed some quickness to hands, with good hip rotation, and ability to hit balls to both gaps. Reached base 3 times and had a bat exit velocity of 73 mph in live game action. With continued growth and development, we foresee him having opportunities to play at the next level.

08/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Gillette, WY Jarrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to increase foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine with improvements through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Slider is harder with tight spin and short break. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Jarrett is a lean 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared, crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, he throws from a low ¾ arm slot. Fastball showed a range of 63-64 mph with tailing. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 5 years to further develop, Jarrett has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
