12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jarrett is a RHP/3B prospect who continued to showcase his skills during the Academic All-American Tournament. On the mound, Jarrett gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Jarrett shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-61mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 60-63mph with arm side run and sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Jarrett makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and is explosive driving his lower half through. He generates fast bat speed through the zone and produces loud contact and strong line drives. Overall, Jarrett is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Jarrett continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Monticello, IA Jarrett increased arm strength to 73 MPH, and showed improvements at the plate during his last workout with The Factory. He raised exit velocity to 85 MPH, he has fast bat speed, and a square/balanced approach. Jarrett makes hard contact through a level swing plane, and he taps into his lower body well. At 3rd, Jarrett has a good 1st step to the ball, footwork is efficient, and he fields low. He has a soft glove, he makes plays, and throws with a short arm action to his target. On the mound, this RHP keeps his eyes on target, he separates his hands on time, and lands with good direction toward home; competing in the zone.

06/02/2019 - College PREP - River Forest (Chicago), IL Jarrett continues to make steady improvements on the diamond. On the mound, Jarrett gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He extends through his release and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Jarrett shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 54-56mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 57-61mph. Loosening his arm action can help Jarrett improve as a pitcher. In the field, Jarrett shows a good prep step and makes the routine plays. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistent to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Jarrett improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Jarrett improve as a hitter. With two more years to develop, Jarrett has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

08/12/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Elgin (Chicago), IL Jarrett is a RHP/SS prospect who continued to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Jarrett keeps his eyes on target and separates his hands on time, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 64mph with arm side tail. Slider ranges from 62-64mpg with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 53-55mph with arm side tail. Jarrett can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. In the field, Jarrett fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange to throw. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps them consistent to his target. Jarrett can improve defensively by getting into a more athletic fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and tracks the ball well, driving to all fields. Jarrett can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Jarrett is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/11/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Monticello, IA Jarrett is a RHP/SS graduating in 2021. In the field, Jarrett continues to move well laterally and shows improvement by getting into a square fielding position, while presenting his hands early. Jarrett throws from a 3/4 arm slot and makes accurate throws to his targets. Playing through the baseball could give him more carry on his throws. At the plate, Jarrett has a tall, open stance and good center balance. His lower half stays through throughout his swing and produces fast bat speed. Jarrett shows a gap to gap approach in his swing, which is an improvement from his former pull side approach. With a wider base and more rhythm, Jarrett could barrel the ball harder and more consistently. On the mound, Jarrett shows a good pace and stays in line with the catcher, keeping his eyes on the target at all times. Jarrett consistently gathers over the rubber, separates on time and has a clean arm action to the plate. Jarrett has gained more velocity since his previous event with his FB (65-66 mph), but with more leg drive and extension at his release, Jarrett has the ability to add even more velocity. Jarrett also added off speed pitches to his arsenal (SL and CH), raising his stock on the mound. Jarrett shows improvement and will benefit from more development.

07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown Lund worked hard and showed well during his latest event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the MIF, he moves well laterally, flashing range and displays aggressive feet that attack the baseball. Hands are soft but needs to present more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 45-52 mph. Stock on the mound will continue to grow as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and develops off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays hard and is very coachable.

06/07/2015 - Interactive Video Program - River Forest (Chicago), IL Jarrett is a R/R 2-way player as a RHP/SS. On the mound, this righty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slo. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his eyes on the target and works in-line toward the plate. He uses his lower 1/2 and drives off the rubber repeating his delivery well. FB tops out at 59 mph while showing some run. Slider has 10/4 shape while changeup shows some sink (45-50 mph). At SS, Lund shows active footwork and comes to get the GB. He is sure handed and has a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, this righty steps into the box looking to hit. He squares the ball up and drives it back up the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
