12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jase is an athletic and hard-working catching prospect that made a lot of adjustments over the week. Behind the dish, Jase starts in an athletic primary stance, presents a low target, and tries to work behind the ball. When blocking, he leads with his glove, tucks his chin, and creates good angles over the ball. When throwing, he creates momentum with his lower half, has proper footwork, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Jase starts in an athletic stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and use his lower half. He needs to be more aggressive to the ball and keep his head down at contact. Jase will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/19/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Jase is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Select Training at the College World Series. Behind the plate, Jase works to track the ball into his glove and makes accurate throws to 2B. Sitting in a lower stance can help Jase improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth, level swing and produces consistent contact. Jase can improve as a hitter by being more controlled getting into his load. With five more years to develop, Jase has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/15/2018 - Texas Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend Jase is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Skills Weekend. Behind the plate, Jase presents a good target and tracks the ball well. He gets into his secondary stance on time and makes a clean exchange to throw, working to keep his throws accurate to 2B. He moves on time to block and covers up well. Sitting in a more athletic primary stance can help Jase improve as a C. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and takes a short stride. He is on time getting his hands activated and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to solid gap to gap pop. Jase can improve as a hitter by getting more extension through his swing. With five more years to develop, Jase has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Jase is an athletic and talented 2024 catching prospect that was eager to learn. Behind the dish, Jase starts in a balanced primary and an athletic secondary stance. He works behind the ball and sees the ball into his glove when receiving. He's aggressive to the ball and leads with his glove when blocking. He needs to continue to control the ball with his chest and improve his lateral mobility. He has a clean exchange and creates momentum with his lower half when throwing to bases. At the plate, Jase starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He has a compact swing and drives the ball through the middle part of the field. He needs to continue to create backside rotation with his lower half and attack the inside part of the ball. Jase has a high baseball IQ and will continue to improve with experience.

07/17/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jase is a young 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Jase has an easy set-up, playable hands and feet, and he tucks his chin when blocking. He presents his glove well, has a clean exchange, and throws with momentum from a short arm action to 2nd base. At 3B, Jase tracks the ball well to his glove, he fields in some rhythm, and shows a loose arm with consistency across the diamond. Offensively, Jase has an open stance, a short/square stride, and a compact overall swing. He has a direct barrel to the ball and can spray to all fields. Jase can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
