07/20/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West This projectable righty continues to impress. Arm works loose & free as he gets strong glove-side lead. FB jumps out of his hand, now topping out at 91 mph while showing sink & run. CB & SL are both effective pitches as he mixes them well. Changeup drops off the table and compliments FB nicely. He varies his speeds well and give hitters an uncomfortable at-bat. Jase Embry is a highly touted arm that is sure to be on the radar of college & pro scouts.

11/01/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Showcase: Futures Texas Jase continues to show more polish on the mound each time we see him. At this Futures event he worked in the 84-86 mph range on a cool night and had excellent sink to his fastball that lived down in the zone. He complemented that with a curve that had 3/4 shape and change that also had sink and was thrown with the same arm speed and action as his fastball. He hides the ball well with a slight crossfire delivery and is aggressive in the strike zone. His 3/4 slot makes RHHs very uncomfortable. Overall, Jase has developed into a premium arm with solid stuff and an excellent ability to use it.

07/31/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Southwest Championships 18U Participant 8/3 - Strong lower half and a good pitchers body. Short, quick arm stroke. Showed a swing and miss slider in his second outing of the tournament. 7 k's in 4 innings. Worked with great tempo and attacked the strike zone with a good sinker slider combination. 7/31 - 3/4 arm slot, good east west run FB 85-87mph, 74 slider, holds runners well with good pick

07/29/2014 - Under Armour Southwest Championships, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jase is a strong arm who can win games. He is a competitor who battles from the second he toes the rubber. This RHP works to stay on top of and drive downhill toward the mitt. FB cracks the mitt at 87 with arm-side run. He shows plus command working the ball in and out as he mixes his pitches well. Off-speed pitches are very effective as he shows plus ability to throw both his CB and CH. He has smooth/effortless actions pounding the zone. With the bat, Jase has an aggressive approach with a strong base. He utilizes his lower 1/2 well throughout the swing, connecting and driving the ball. At 2B, he moves well laterally and gets into an athletic fielding position. He has a smooth transfer/exchange and works in-line toward 1B. This RHP will throw strikes and go the distance, giving his team a chance to win every time he steps out there.

02/23/2014 - College PREP - Waco, TX Jase is a lean, athletic RHP that will graduate in 2016. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he uses his lower half well and allows his arm action to work long and well to the plate through a 3/4 arm slot. Arm strength is solid as indicated by his top velocity of 83 mph. Fastball shows a range of 81-83 mph on a slight downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He slows his arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both side of the plate. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained. With 2 years to further develop, Jase has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
