01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Jase continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and present well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy carry on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays on plane and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and has strength in his swing. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with 3 RBI. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Jase is an athletic 3B/OF who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 3B, he hustles laterally and works into a low/athletic fielding position on GB's. He has a clean exchange and makes on-line throws to his target. In the OF, he takes fluid routes/angles with quick footwork to the fly ball. He gets rid of the ball quickly and fires throws with loose arm action. As a hitter, Jase shows an athletic setup with fluid rhythm to load. He stays balanced as he whips his barrel fast through the zone and drives pitches on a line. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
