12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jason continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities as we got a chance to see him at the Academic All-American Tournament. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a short/direct/level swing path, creating extension. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 6 with a 2B. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-67 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.
