01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jason is a very talented athlete who continues to progress and has made great strides in his game over the years. Absolute speed is what sets this switch-hitting OF apart (6.65 60 yard dash). He moves on the balls of his feet and can cover a ton of ground right and left. Hands are soft as he works through the ball and fires accurate throws with zip/carry/backspin into his target. At the plate, this switch hitter currently shows slightly more natural from the right side. He is balanced, hands are quick and he squares the ball up consistently resulting in hard line-drives (exit velocity = 87 mph). A lead-off type of hitter he showed his patience and good eye for the zone, drawing 5 walks in 7 AB's in gameplay. Once on base he's a threat with his speed and gets good jumps to steal. A well-rounded OF talent - Brown has worked hard and has the skill-set that will translate well into the next level.

03/10/2019 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Jason is an athletic OF prospect who will graduate in 2020. In the field, Jason shows fluid footwork and is agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Jason is a talented prospect who shows the skillset to contribute at the next level.

12/09/2017 - Hitting Accelerated Training HS- Columbia, MD JB is an athletic hitter who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives. JB can improve as a hitter by keeping his hands inside the ball. Overall, JB is a solid hitter who has the potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) JB is an athletic, R/R OF who showed very well during his time in Pirate City. In the OF, he takes a quick first step with solid routes/angles to work into position behind the fly-ball. He works through the ball aggressively and gains ground towards his target, firing strong/accurate throws. With the bat, this RHH displays an athletic/open stance with centered balance. He likes to jump on first pitch fastballs, whips the barrel with quick hands and hits the ball where it's pitched, driving it to the gaps (collecting 2 singles at the event). JB has versatility and can play multiple positions on the diamond. Only a 2020 grad, JB has a ton of upside and is one to keep an eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
