08/03/2023 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament (HS) Jason continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Pro Select Training. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard on the field.

02/19/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jason is a 1B who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame with some strength present and room to add throughout. At 1B, he takes aggressive routes to baseball. Tries to field out front and tracks into glove. Throws from a 3/4 release point with an arm velocity up to 68mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. He takes an aggressive swing as he tried to use all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during BP. With another year of development, we see Jason making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
