07/31/2014 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Jason is a lean catcher that will graduate in 2015. Behind the plate, he shows a clean transfer / exchange with accuracy on his throws. Pop times will continue drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level, though he can work on being a little softer with his hands. Working on his footwork and exchange on throws is another area of focus for Jason. At the plate, he shows an open / balanced setup. Hands are loose as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He flashes bat speed through a solid line drive approach and makes consistent contact. Hitting grades will continue to improve by simplifying his swing and letting the ball travel deeper. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and shows a desire to be the best he can be. Jason is an athletic player that showed the ability to make adjustments throughout his time in Dodgertown. He wants to learn and has lots of potential.
