Official Scouting Report

10/24/2021 - All-In Membership - San Angelo, TX Jason is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and room to add throughout. In the OF active feet. Fields ball out front from an athletic/square fielding position. Good reads off the bat enable him to flip his hips and works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Does a good job creating momentum to throw. Throws from a high arm slot, with a long arm, and throws were into the infield at 68mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher gathers over the rubber, with good balance, and works downhill. Works with good tempo and separates his hands on-time. He challenges hitters with a FB that sits 64-65mph with little action, a 11/5 shaped breaking ball with little break, and a developing changeup that he keeps down in the zone. A right-handed hitter, starts with a tall and even stance. He hits into a firm front side at times, with decent hands, and has a flat bat through the hitting zone. Made square contact with a bat exit velocity up to 69mph during BP. With many more years of development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
