01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Javier is an athletic RHP who competes when he toes the rubber. He is a coachable player who asks questions and has a willingness to improve. On the mound, he works to a tall/controlled balance point and maintains level shoulders. He drives off of the rubber, downhill and stays directional toward the plate. FB has good sink and arm-side run as he fills up the zone with strikes. He works quickly and doesn't give hitters a chance to get settled. Finishing with more extension on his follow through (towel drill) will help to improve effectiveness on the mound. Working to develop his off-speed pitches will help to take the next step. As a hitter - Javier has a square setup with quiet/simple actions. He has good zone awareness and waits for his pitch. He barrels the ball up consistently and drives it back up the middle of the field. Swinging on a more direct path with more bat speed will result in increased power. Camacho brings energy to the field and is a great teammate. He is a few adjustments away from unlocking his potential on the diamond.
