05/02/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Rosemont (Chicago), IL Javier is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame, with a thin build, and some strength present with room to fill out and add strength. In the field, this young SS starts with efficient feet and a fast motor. Good 1st step enables him to create good fielding angles with a square fielding position. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity of 67mph. At the plate, a right-handed hitter, he begins with an open and athletic stance. Quiet head/eyes allow him to track pitches well. Short stride into contact with good balance at contact point. Made contact to all fields, with a bat exit velocity of 69mph, during his round of BP. As he continues to mature and develop, we see him having an opportunity to play at the next level.

11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Javier is a coachable SS prospect who showcased his skills during the Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Javier shows efficient footwork with a quick first step. He gets into position on time and makes accurate throws across the diamond. Long tossing can help Javier build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a soft stride. He works through a level swing and produces solid contact. Javier can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Javier has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/13/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Franklin (Milwaukee), WI Javier is an athletic SS prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Javier shows efficient footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He fields in an athletic position and works to make accurate throws to his target. Fielding the ball out in front of his body can help Javier improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and works to barrel up the baseball, using the entire field well. Javier can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Javier has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
