05/01/2016 - College PREP - College Station, TX Jaxon showed on the mound and in the OF for the first time at the event. He continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball showed a range of 72-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual downward break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Gaining more arm strength through a long toss program will aid in further development on mound. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.08. In the OF, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is excellent as the ball comes off his bat well. Power will continue to increase as he works to use his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Jaxon has a promising future on the diamond and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.
