05/28/2023 - National Showcase - Charleston, WV Jaxon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.32 runner. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.20 range. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved, now displaying as well above average through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows range of 73-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Jaxon as he heads to Penn State Fayette in the fall.

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Jaxon is a 2023 C out of New Franklin, OH who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. He's a hard worker and a good teammate. Behind the dish, he starts in athletic primary stance, with an easy sit, and has a loud mitt. He does a good job of replacing his feet and works with good direction towards second base. Presents a good target and tracks pitches well with strong hands. Throws were on the bag from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 77mph and a best pop time of 2.15 seconds. He creates good blocking angles and smoothers the baseball. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance with high hands. He hits into a firm frontside and has natural juice in his swing. Showed good barrel control as he gets extended through the baseball. He hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph during BP. In live game action, he reached on a double and a single. With another season of development, we foresee Jaxon having a bright future on the baseball field. We look forward to seeing what the future holds as he heads to Finlandia University in the fall.

08/02/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Dublin (Columbus), OH Jaxon worked out behind the plate and at 2B during his last workout with the Factory. He ran his best 60 to date at 7.96 seconds. Behind the plate, Jaxon sits in quietly with active footwork. He tracks well to the glove, works hard to block softly, and throws with momentum and a short arm action to 2nd base. In the INF, Jaxon has good footwork, he fields low and athletically, and his hands are soft and clean. He presents well, his exchange is quick, and throws with a loose/accurate arm to 1B. Offensively, this RHH has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and a solid load. He has a short/direct barrel and he makes hard contact.

02/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Jaxon is a C/2B who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame stocky build, with a strong lower half, and room to add throughout. At C, he works to center the baseball, with an easy body sway, and showed efficient footwork. Tries to work thumb under baseball keeping balls in the strike zone. Showed a good elbow hinge, with a long arm stroke in back, and a high 3/4 release point and arm velocity up to 75mph and a best pop time of 2.27 seconds. Made accurate throws to the first base side of the bag with good carry on ball. Tries to create good blocking angles and tucks his chin. In the infield, he creates good fielding angles to his glove side with ability to make routine plays. Made accurate throws to first base with a quick release. Showed good footwork around bag on his DP pivots. A right-handed hitter, he starts with an athletic and even stance. Starts with an on-time stride, with a good rear hip coil, and ability to barrel up baseball. He takes an aggressive swing and has a high finish after contact. Hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph. Another year of growth and development should provide Jaxon with opportunities to play at the next level.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Jaxon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.36 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a solid setup, sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, is very coachable, and plays with high energy.

09/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Erie, PA Jaxon is a solid catcher who will graduate in 2023. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.35 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 2 years to further develop, Jaxon has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
