12/17/2023 - National Showcase - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Jaxson shows as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.21 with accuracy / carry (86 mph velocity on his throws. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork and works to squared balls up. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting abilities are well above average with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing through an aggressive hip turn. With 4 years to further develop, Jaxon has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Jaxson is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cleveland All Star Experience. Behind the plate, Jaxson sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He gains ground when throwing and keeps his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He moves to block on time and tucks his chin well. Jaxson can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load on time and drives through well with his lower half. He hits against a strong front side and produces solid line drives. Activating his hands more can help Jaxson improve as a hitter. With seven more years to develop, Jaxson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/21/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Jaxson is a thin, 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Jaxson has good flexion, he sits in low, and his actions are quiet. He catches athletically, blocks the baseball well, and throws with consistency and momentum from a long arm action to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.83 seconds. At 3B, Jaxson gets in a good ready position, he fields squarely, and his footwork is efficient to the ball. He plays with good energy and effort, and has a consistent/accurate arm to his target. Offensively, Jaxson has a square set-up, he loads well, and he works the middle of the field. He tracks the ball well, swings on plane, and he makes solid contact. Jaxson can continue to improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
