04/07/2019 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jaxson is a strong 1B/RHP prospect who will continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 1B, Jaxson shows efficient footwork and fields the ball in a square position. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Fielding with softer hands can help Jaxson improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and takes a direct swing, leading to solid gap to gap pop. Jaxson can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Jaxson stays directional towards the plate and works to keep his pitches around the zone. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-66mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 66-70mph. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Jaxson improve as a pitcher. Overall, Jaxson is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jaxson is a well-rounded 1B/RHP prospect who has a tall build. As a right-handed hitter, Jaxson has a tall, quiet setup with high hands. He has a simple load with on-time rhythm and a centered stride. Jaxson has an on-plane swing path with fast bat speed. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball producing hard contact. Jaxson has a line drive approach and sprays the ball to all fields. In the field, Jaxson has a relaxed ready position and is on the balls of his feet. He shows agile actions and moves with effective footwork covering good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a low position with soft hands. Jaxson has a clean exchange leading into a quick arm action. He gets rid of it quickly throwing from a 3/4 arm slot showing accurate results. On the mound, Jaxson has a confident presence and composed approach. He has balanced mechanics with a small starter step. He has late separation and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He stays in line with home plate. Jaxson uses his curveball frequently and can benefit from locating his fastball more accurately. Overall, Jaxson has upside in his game giving him a bright future on the diamond.

11/04/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Plano (DFW), TX Jaxson posted his best 60 time to date (7.33 seconds) and improved his exit velocity to 79 MPH during his last workout in Plane. He is a good sized, solid 1st baseman with good awareness around the bag. Jaxson keeps the ball in front of his body, moves well laterally, and has a quick exchange when throwing toward his target. Quicker feet and looser overall actions will help defense get better. At the plate, Jaxson is a strong hitter with a quiet set-up and good balance. He creates leverage and has pop in his bat. Hitting will improve with more timing, a better load/stride, and sharper barrel accuracy.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Jaxson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 68 mph. Fastball shows a range of 65-68 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off when centered. At the event, he was 3 for 8. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls through a low approach. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jaxson is broad, solid 1B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork around the bag. Glove action is soft /sure and he presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 62-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Jaxson has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
