12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jaxx is a 2024 2B/RHP who showcased his abilities at the Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament. At 2B, he showed good footwork to his backhand side with his eyes behind glove. Tries to create good fielding angels and works from the ground up. Has a long arm stroke in the back working into a high 3/4 arm slot with arm velocity up to 67mph. Made accurate throws with a quick release. On the mound, he works with good tempo and is around the zone with both of his pitches. He separates his hands on-time and gets extended out front. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 71-73mph with some movement in the zone and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with good depth through the zone. In 2 innings of work Jaxx induced soft contact and threw 70% of his pitches for strikes. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Starts with a short/square glide step, with a good balance at contact, and a level barrel through the hitting zone. A short/direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. In the live games, he showed good patience drawing 3 walks and had a single. With 2 years left to develop before graduation, we foresee Jaxx making huge strides on the baseball field.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jaxx is an energetic C/RHP that attended Pirate City. Behind the dish Jaxx showed an athletic primary stance presenting a good glove. Making throws to 2B he gains ground with a quick 2-hand exchange getting rid of the ball from a OH slot. He makes accurate throws and uses long hops. At the plate, Jaxx sets up square and athletic with comfortable hands. He gets an activated load with a controlled stride getting his foot down on time keeping his lower half centered. He makes hard contact with the ball showing plus pop to the pull side. On the mound Jaxx shows a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB. He shows a lot of good actions with a good gather over the back leg with a clean arm action that accelerates forward. He keeps his stride and shoulder in line to the plate with a controlled landing. Speed and agility will really improve Jaxx's game overall. Jaxx asked questions and was involved with his development which will be a key for him moving forward.

01/06/2019 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Jaxx is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. Behind the plate, Jaxx moves efficiently and blocks balls well. He receives with a firm glove and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws to 2B, working to keep them accurate to the bag. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an athletic stance and drives his lower half through well. He gets good extension with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and solid pop. On the mound, Jaxx gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He finishes with a controlled landing, square to the plate. Jaxx shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph. Breaking ball sits from 49-51mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 55mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
