12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Jaxx is a 2024 2B/RHP who showcased his abilities at the Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament. At 2B, he showed good footwork to his backhand side with his eyes behind glove. Tries to create good fielding angels and works from the ground up. Has a long arm stroke in the back working into a high 3/4 arm slot with arm velocity up to 67mph. Made accurate throws with a quick release. On the mound, he works with good tempo and is around the zone with both of his pitches. He separates his hands on-time and gets extended out front. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 71-73mph with some movement in the zone and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with good depth through the zone. In 2 innings of work Jaxx induced soft contact and threw 70% of his pitches for strikes. At the plate, he starts with an athletic and square stance. Starts with a short/square glide step, with a good balance at contact, and a level barrel through the hitting zone. A short/direct barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph. In the live games, he showed good patience drawing 3 walks and had a single. With 2 years left to develop before graduation, we foresee Jaxx making huge strides on the baseball field.
