01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Jay is a 2024 2-way player (SS/RHP) who shines in a variety of ways. At short, he showed off his arm with a 80 mph arm velocity. His cannon added with quick feet and agile range will really be on display in the future. Not only did he impress at short, but he also showed his pop off a little. His athletic set up, fast lower half, and center balance would help him make hard contact in all of his rounds. Jay stepped on the mound and showed off a strong fastball topping at 71mph. As he continues to develop we can see him expanding on his CB while adding a CH as well. Overall, Jay is a solid 2-way prospect that projects as a SS, but can get it done on the mound, we are excited to see where this game takes him in the future.

Jay is an athletic (5'5"/125) 2-way player as a SS/RHP who has a solid all-around skill-set. Defensively at SS, he maintains active prep and works quickly/fluidly into an athletic fielding position. Hands are soft/clean as he gathers well and has a smooth transfer to throw. At the plate, this righty displays an athletic setup with centered balance. He has fluid rhythm, swings the bat with plus speed and connects with some pop. On the mound, Hale has a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his eyes on his target and repeats his delivery well. FB tops out at 65 mph as he pounds the zone with strikes. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action when released out front. Continuing to work on the following will help to unlock his potential on the diamond.
1. Arm slot to throw
2. Lateral actions
1. Contact Points
2. Stride foot landing
3. Lower 1/2
1. Arm strength (long toss)
