07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jaycob is a talented two-way player who continues to improve and impress on the field. He is a standout third baseman with all of the tools needed to excel at the hot corner. He is athletic and agile, moving with ease from side to side to make plays in all directions. His hands are soft and quick to field and get rid of the with ease and make strong, accurate throws. At the dish, he shows pop and bat speed to flash a strong hit tool and extra base ability. He uses a strong base and centered balance to stay back and attack pitches in any part of the zone to spray hits to all fields. On the bump, this right hander features a sinker, curveball mix that should generate plenty of ground balls. He can throw both pitches for strikes and is aggressive attacking hitters and inducing weak contact with the ability to put hitters away late in counts. Adding a third pitch would allow him to get through lineups more than once by keeping hitters off balance. Jaycob is a talented player who looks to have a bright future on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
