12/14/2019 - Florida Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Jayden is an athletic and talented 2024 catching prospect. Behind the dish, Jayden presents a low target and tracks the ball into his glove. He needs to continue to keep a quiet head, stay balanced, and work behind the ball. When throwing he makes accurate throws, but needs to continue to be in an athletic secondary, gain ground with his footwork, and exchange the ball in front of his chest. When blocking, he needs to lead with his glove, stay over the ball with his chest, and tuck his chin. At the plate, Jayden starts in a tall stance and he looks to hit the ball to all fields. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, rotate his lower half, and keep his head down at contact. In drill work Jayden did well but he needs to apply his work on the field. Jayden will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Jayden is a lean, 2-way player who catches and plays 3rd base. Behind the plate, Jayden has playable hands and feet, and he looks the ball into his glove. He has good direction, a clean release, and he throws with accuracy to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 3.77 seconds. At 3rd base, Jayden has efficient footwork and he moves well to the glove side. He keeps it in front and throws with a long/accurate arm across the diamond. Offensively, Jayden has a square stance, good bat speed, and he keeps his hands inside the ball well. He will need to work on the following in order for skills to improve.

Catching
1. Hands
2. Footwork
3. Arm action
Infield
1. Play lower
2. Hands
3. Release
Offense
1. Barrel accuracy
2. Rhythm
3. Balance

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
