02/28/2016 - College PREP - Sioux Falls, SD Jaydon is a lanky, athletic SS/RHP who will graduate in 2019 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.25 60 time. In the MIF, he is fundamentally sound, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ground balls and plays through, presenting sure hands well out front. At the plate he shows a soft / balanced setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He shows a feel for the barrel and has some pop as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he shows good mound presence and composure. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 3 years to further develop, Jaydon has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
