01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011 Jaylen is a tall, lean RHP with a true pitcher's frame. He has long, free arm action and gets good extension on his pitches. He has good balance, works in good rhythm, throws strikes and mixes his pitches up well. His CB showed to be his best pitch. He keeps his shoulders level, attacks hitters and gets outs. If Jaylen can avoid wrapping his arm, and continue to add arm strength, mound effectiveness can improve. Jaylen is a strong RHP that should get many college looks.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
