06/05/2016 - College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Jaylen is an athletic 3B/OF who will graduate in 2019. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.37. At 3B, he moves well laterally, displaying range. Feet are light / active as he works, attacks balls, and plays through. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents on time. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level / aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to use his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Jaylen has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
