06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jaylyn is a 1B/LHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Omaha National World Series. In the field, Jaylyn fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Jaylyn improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance with loose hands. He gets into a small load and produces solid gap to gap pop. Jaylyn can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride towards the pitcher. On the mound, Jaylyn gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jaylyn shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits at 57mph with sinking action. Extending through his release can help Jaylyn improve as a pitcher. Overall, Jaylyn is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.
