Official Scouting Report

12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jayme continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/26/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 14-18) Jayme is a coachable SS/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Jayme is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Jayme continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.22 runner. At SS, defensive abilities have improved, now solid skills. Feet are active and he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly and showed the ability to throw from different arm angles. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (80 mph) and work through an aggressive swing path. He uses his lower half and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

09/01/2019 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Jayme is an athletic, SS who will graduate in 2020. Defensively, Jayme has efficient footwork, he moves well to the glove side, and he fields in a square position. He makes plays, his exchange is quick, and he throws with a loose arm action with accuracy to his target. Defense can improve with more aggressiveness to the ball, lighter feet, and playing more through. Offensively, Jayme has a tall/square set-up, a short/square stride, and he loads well. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and he makes level/direct contact. Added strength and clearing his hands sooner will help hitting spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
