06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jefferson is a well-rounded 3B/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. Jefferson can improve defensively by working on his footwork. At the plate, Jefferson shows a line drive approach. He has a crouched setup with a smooth rhythm and fast bat speed making square contact with the ball. Jefferson could see improvement offensively by creating separation with his hands and finding rhythm. On the mound, Jefferson throws three pitches (2SFB, 4SFB and CB) from an over top arm slot. Jefferson has good, simple mechanics. He shows good balance gathering over the rubber with an on-time separation and extending through the zone upon release throwing with a downhill trajectory. Jefferson stays square to his target controlling his landing and rotating to his target when finishing. Jefferson can improve his velocity by implementing a throwing program. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
