08/03/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Jeffrey showed as a very coachable, hardworking player who shows steady progress in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.40 range with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer/exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving/blocking skills show as quality tools as he continues to develop and get more reps. He is a vocal leader on the field and shows a solid feel for the game. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Jeffrey is a talented 2019 grad with a bright future ahead as a C/OF. Behind the dish, Jeffrey is a polished backstop with mature actions. He blocks balls in the dirt with lateral quickness and proper angles. Throws to 2B (2.27) will improve with arm strength and physical maturity. Offensively, Jeffrey continues to hit from a simple stance with whippy hands and aggressive actions. With his strong hands, he is able to handle the barrel through the zone and gain extension with every pitch. As he works to get his timing in check, his abilities at the plate will continue to improve. Overall, Jeffrey is a hard-working, coachable player with an extremely bright future.

09/13/2015 - College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Jeffrey is a lean, athletic C/OF that will graduate in 2019. In the OF, he is aggressive and takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Hands/feet work well together as he utilizes two hands and catches at the highest point. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind balls, plays through with momentum to his target, and increases foot quickness. Behind the plate, pop times shows a range of 2.48-2.58 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Receiving/blocking skills show as playable tools as he continues to get develop and get more reps. At the plate, he shows a squared stance with balance. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power numbers will continue to improve as he adds overall body strength. With 4 years to further develop, Jeffrey has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
