Official Scouting Report

  • SS/OFPosition Projection

03/25/2018 - College PREP - Harmony (Pittsburgh), PA Jeramie is an athletic and talented 2019 utility player. At SS, Jeramie has an active prep step and presents a low/early glove. He works from the ground up and has a clean exchange. In the OF, Jeramie starts in an athletic position and reads the ball off the bat well. He creates good routes to the ball and works behind fly balls. At the plate, Jeramie starts in a tall stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He hits off a firm front side and is aggressive on the fastball. Jeramie will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jeramie continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / sure but needs to present more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 66-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

12/09/2017 - Hitting Accelerated Training HS- Columbia, MD Jeramie is a coachable hitter who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and gets into his load well. He comes through the zone with his lower half producing fast bat speed and consistent contact to his pull side. Jeramie can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride towards the pitcher. Overall, Jeramie is a solid hitter who has the potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

10/29/2017 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Jeramie is a young, thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Jeramie stands over the rubber well, he has a clean arm action, and good direction toward home. He separates on time, finishes in an athletic position, and is around the zone with his pitches. Smoother actions, added arm strength, and working on a downhill plane can help mound effectiveness improve. At SS, Jeramie has efficient footwork, agile movements, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He makes the routine plays, and throws with good consistency to his target. Defensive abilities can get better if Jeramie can smooth out his footwork, soften his glove, and add arm strength. Offensively, Jeramie has a square set-up, a proper load, and he swings aggressively. He makes contact and swings on-plane at times. If Jeramie can swing in better rhythm, use more lower body, and add bat speed, hitting numbers can further spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
