Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Jeremiah is an athletic 1B/LHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. Feet / hands work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. He moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed (90 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 79-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Jeremiah has potential and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

05/07/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Jeremiah is a 1B/LHP with a big, projectable frame. Defensively at 1B, he presents his hands out in front as he tries to get into a square fielding position. He releases the ball from multiple arm slots and makes accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this lefty delivers from a hi 3/4 slot with clean arm action. He keeps his eyes locked in as he pounds the zone strikes. At the plate, Jeremiah displays a square setup with fluid rhythm. He takes aggressive hacks through the zone as he looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Keep FB down in zone
2. Extend through more
3. Use more lower 1/2
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Improve bat speed
3. Level bat path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
