Official Scouting Report

  • OF/3BPosition Projection

02/28/2016 - College PREP - Atlanta, GA Jeremiah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.18. At the plate is where he has improved the most through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus as he makes consistent hard contact, mainly to the pull side. Power will increase as he loads more and utilizes his lower half more aggressively. In the OF, he has improved his defensive abilities. He utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Hands are sure as he presents well out front, catching balls at highest point. At 3B, he displays clean hands and active feet as he works to square balls up. Presenting hands more out front will aid in avoiding the in between hop.

10/11/2015 - College PREP - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Jeremiah is a lean, athletic 3B/OF that will graduate in 2018. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.25 60 time. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet well in taking proper routes / angles in working to track balls down. He needs to work to get behind ball more and play through with momentum to his target to improve grade. At 3B, feet are aggressive as he as squares balls up well, displaying clean hands. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he plays through balls more while presenting hands more out front. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to level out swing path and stays inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will increase as he adds overall body strength and works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. With 3 years to further develop, Jeremiah has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
