10/09/2019 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Jeremy is a coachable C/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. Behind the plate, Jeremy sits in an athletic stance and tracks the ball into his glove. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through the 2B bag. He is smooth moving to block and covers up well. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a centered stride. He gets into a simple load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. Overall, Jeremy is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jeremy is a hard working team player who is showing steady improvements on the diamond. Behind the plate, Jeremy sits in a relaxed primary stance and receives quietly. He gets into his secondary on time and gains ground to throw. He is synchronized getting rid of the ball and keeps his throws on the 2B bag. Jeremy moves efficiently to block and is quick to recover. Long tossing to build up his arm strength can help Jeremy improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into a simple load and is explosive driving his lower half through. He takes a level swing with good extension through the ball, leading to loud contact. Jeremy can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. Overall, Jeremy is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

05/25/2019 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Jeremy is a an athletic 2-way player (5'11"/165) as a C/OF who showed well on the diamond. Behind the dish, he sits in well with a solid base and good sway. He tracks pitches into a soft mitt, sticks the ball and frames well. Throws to 2B are on the bag coming from a clean transfer/exchange with pop times as low as 2.20. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, this righty looks to swing it. He has fluid rhythm and active hands getting good separation. Barrel is delivered on a short/quick path as he connects and hits hard line-drives. Underwood is a skilled player who has a ton of upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
