02/25/2018 - College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Jerrold is an athletic LHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2018. On the mound, this lefty shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate. Jerrold has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball ranges from 62-66mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 69-71mph with good arm side run as he throws with fastball arm speed. Jerrold can improve as a pitcher by extending through on his release. In the field, Jerrold shows fluid footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate with good carry through his target. Jerrold can improve defensively by quickening his exchange to throw. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and pull side pop. Jerrold can improve as a hitter by consistently extending through the ball. Overall, Jerrold is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.
