06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jerry is a thin and talented 2019 2- way prospect. On the bump, Jerry gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a proper stride length. Continuing to drive the back leg toward the plate and having a clean arm swing will allow him to work north to south. At SS, Jerry is on time with his prep step and presents a low early glove. He works from the ground up, has a clean exchange, and throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Jerry starts in a squared stance and tries to have a middle approach. Continuing to load his hands into the drive position and having a consistent stride toward the pitcher will allow him to be more consistent with his timing. Jerry has a high baseball IQ and is eager to learn. Jerry will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/07/2018 - College PREP - Jacksonville, FL Jerry is an athletic and talented 2019 SS prospect. At SS, Jerry makes the routine play and creates angles to the ball. He funnels the ball into his body; he has a clean exchange, and throws from multiple arm slots. At the plate, Jerry starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He attacks the inside part of the ball and uses his lower half. Jerry will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
