06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Jerry continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 91 mph). Jerry has the tools that will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jerry is a versatile SS/OF prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Jerry has a square stance with a centered balance. He has a smooth load with a square stride as his lower half leads his swing. Jerry has fast bat speed with an on-plane, compact swing path. He repeats his swing and delivers square contact. Jerry has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. In the field, Jerry plays with effective pre-pitch actions and active footwork giving him the ability to cover good ground. He fields the ball squarely and has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball producing consistent accurate throws with good strength behind them. Overall, Jerry is an athletic prospect who has good upside on both sides of the ball.

12/04/2016 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Jerry is a tall and athletic right handed hitting SS and OF. In the infield, he showed good footwork and rhythm, which allowed him to work to ground balls quickly and field them cleanly out in front of his body. Exchange to throw after fielding was very clean, as he did a fine job of getting the ball out on time. In the OF, he made proper reads off the bat, allowing him to beat the ball to the spot and then work through it cleanly to come up and make accurate throws into his target. Offensively, he took aggressive swings and sprayed the ball to all fields with some pop. Hands were quick and worked on a direct path to the ball. Lower half was fully utilized as he displayed good separation. Overall, Jerry is a talented player with the ability to play 2 positions well. He has a high ceiling with upside.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
