06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Jesse is a talented C/OF prospect who has a solid build and well-rounded skill set. As a right-handed hitter, Jesse has a square setup with a centered balance and quiet head. He has a good load and takes a short stride. Jesse flashes good bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He is a contact hitter who has a line drive approach. Jesse shows power to the pull side. Behind the plate, Jesse has a solid base presenting a low, effective target. He moves with good body control and smooth footwork. Jesse tracks the ball well and receives the ball with a firm glove. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and is developing arm strength. Overall, Jesse plays the game athletically with right approach and has good potential to take his game to the next level.

12/27/2016 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Jesse is an athletic-built C/OF prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, Jesse has a square, athletic setup with a firm front side and centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with his load and takes a short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Jesses flashes fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path effectively getting extension at contact. His barrel stays over the plate and he is fluid through his finish. Jesse shows solid contact to the pull side. Behind the plate, Jesse has a good setup with an athletic base. He presents a desirable low target and receives the ball with soft hands. Jesse has a long arm action throwing from a 3/4 slot with good carry. In the outfield, Jesse plays with quick footwork as he works to get behind the baseball. He fields the ball athletically as he presents his glove and has a clean exchange. Jesse plays with momentum through his release throwing from a 3/4 slot producing consistent throws with good strength. Overall, Jesse is a projectable prospect who has a solid approach to the game and talent to get even better.

09/18/2016 - College PREP - Boise, ID Jesse is an athletic C/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.20. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls as he read balls well off the bat. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life, carry, and accuracy on his throws. Behind the plate, hands / feet work well together through a quick / clean transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.36-2.45 with accuracy / carry on his throws. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. With 3 years to further develop, Jesse has the makings of a special type player with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
