07/29/2008 - Under Armour Southwest Regional Tournament - 2008 Jesse is a young, lean dual position player that could end up developing well on the mound and at the plate. Jesse has a very smooth, left-handed swing. He stays on the ball path quite well and he uses all fields with gap power. He worked to improve his lower body this past week, in order so that he may generate increased bat speed. In the outfield, he shows a good understanding of routes to lateral balls and he demonstrates a solid, accurate arm toward his target. As a pitcher, Jesse did some good things for his team. He showed he has a super pick-off move to first, as he nabbed multiple runners, that weren't stealing. Jesse learned to mentally attack hitters with or without runners on base. At times, he became distracted with runners on, and struggled to throw strikes, adding more pressure on himself. Jesse realized the need to pitch to contact, because he has good action on his fastball and curveball and they are tough to square up. Jesse's overall, game is very good. He is a young growing player that will develop his skills with added strength and mechanics.
