05/29/2011 - College PREP - Bowie, MD Jesse is a young, thin 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2012. In the INF, Jesse has good pre-pitch actions, his hands are soft and sure, and his feet are fluid and active. He fields from the right, he moves well laterally, and he fields out in front of his body. Jesse has a clean exchange, and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. Defensive tool grades can get better if Jesse can play lower to the ground, and throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate, Jesse has a square / athletic set-up, a proper load, and a short stride. He has good bat speed, a compact swing, and he makes square contact. Jesse swings in good rhythm, he has direct hands to the ball, and he can work the ball gap to gap. Hitting grades can spike if Jesse can avoid lunging and add physical strength.
