08/26/2023 - National Showcase - Salt Lake City, UT Jesse continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are clean and present out front. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jesse is a 2026 SS/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, starts on the balls of his feet, with efficient feet, and creates good fielding angles. Closes distance on batted balls and fields out front with a clean transfer. He gets rid of ball and keeps working towards his target. Throws from a high 3/4 release point with an arm velocity up to 74mph. On the mound, his glove is centered and separates his hands on-time. Showed desire to be coached and has a good attitude. A 2-pitch pitcher who attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 65mph, and an 11/5 shaped breaking ball. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and square stance with loose hands. Has a good approach and rotates his core to contact point. Hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 79mph during BP. Overall, Jesse is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/08/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - American Fork, UT Jesse is a rising star two-way player in the 2026 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions at SS and on the mound. In the field, he presents his glove well and is sharp on his DP feeds and turns. Is athletic in his fielding position and transitions well into his throwing stance. Arm is accurate and has life across the diamond. Improving foot-speed will allow him to stay in the middle of the field. On the mound, he has a 3-pitch mix from a high ¾ slot. His FB topped at 67 and was in the zone. His CB sat 63-4 with 12/6 shape. His CH sat 61-3 with sink. At the plate, he uses the whole field with line drive power. Has advanced strength for a 2026 grad and bat speed is on display. Stays inside his feet well and uses a direct path for hard contact. Overall, Jesse is a player to watch closely.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Jesse is an athletic SS/OF in the class of 2026 out of Taylorsville, UT. Defensively, he does a good job of getting square to the baseball while presenting his glove early to funnel with soft hands. He works through the baseball with his momentum to make on line throws to his target. Offensively, he uses an open stance with a good load to try and work his lower half through with his hands. He makes hard contact at times with plus power potential. Jesse could benefit from programs/drills such as long toss, arm path, front side hitting drills to stay connected, strength, speed & agility.

08/17/2021 - All-In Membership - Colorado Springs, CO Jesse is a SS/OF in the graduating class of 2026. In the outfield, he shows an ability to use good footwork to help him get to the baseball. Makes the routine play and shows some ability to get his momentum working before he throws. Has accurate throws into the infield. At the plate, he hits from an athletic stance and shows feel for the barrel. Has good balance and gets his barrel on plane early helping him make consistent contact. Had a good round of BP and had exit velos up to 75 MPH. At SS, he showed good footwork and the ability to get his eyes behind the backhand. Made routine plays and showed some feel for DP feeds. Jesse is a good player that will have plenty of time to continue his development.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
