09/19/2014 - 2014 Under Armour Fall Classic Upperclass Participant Long limb lefty, FB 81-83mph, CH 72-73mph, late arm side run, hard slider with late action at 66-68mph, loose and fluid delivery, all pitches have late movement

09/17/2014 - Under Armour Fall Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Jesse continues to shine on the diamond. On the bump, he displays 3 quality pitches that he throws for strikes. His FB has good movement and he commands the zone with it, working it on the corners. His SL has late/sharp break to it as it serves as a good out pitch. Jesse also commands his CH well which has arm side run to it. With his frame, loose arm action, and ability to locate he will be a sought after pitcher at the next level. At 1B, he shows quick/active footwork around the bag. He is sure handed and can pick throws out of the dirt with ease. Offensively, Jesse had a level swing, good barrel accuracy, and plus power. His double toe tap timing tends to cause inconsistency in his swing. If he can make slight adjustments offensively, he will be a solid two-way player at the next level.

06/30/2014 - College PREP - Amelia (Cincinnati), OH Jesse showed well, once again, in his most recent Baseball Factory outing as a LHP/1B. The 6'3/180 lbs two-way guy ran a 7.22 sixty and showed plus hit ability with power potential. From the left side, he hit with good balance and rhythm, delivering the barrel to and through contact with plus barrel accuracy. He was fluid with his actions and hit with a middle approach, but has more untapped power within his lower half. Defensively, he had good pre-pitch footwork that helped him get into a good fielding position to secure the ball with sure hands. He worked well laterally, and had a clean exchange to throw. Presenting his glove and following his throw will increase defense ability. On the mound, he threw three pitches from the 3/4 arm slot. He had clean arm action and was able to repeat his pitches. His CH showed to be the best pitch with some depth at 68-69 mph. He also showed feel for his 1/7 CB from 61-63 but lacked the consistent release point. All in all - Jesse is a projectable player with athleticism and fundamental ability that will help him make it to the next level.

02/23/2014 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Peters is a LHP who has an electric arm. FB pounds the zone topping out at 86 mph with arm-side run. He commands the zone with all 3 pitches and throws strikes. He works in-line and finishes out over his front side. Breaking ball shows 1/7 shape being a good out pitch. CH has sink and arm-side run, 'dropping off of the table'. This 6'3"/185 LHP will throw strikes, get outs, and get wins.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
