12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jethro continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.06. Arm strength is outstanding (85 mph velocity) with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone through an athletic setup. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved to go a long with his pro level potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick/explosive (91 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At the event, he was 2 for 5 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.
