01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jimmie's combination of speed and barrel feel give him a prototypical top of the order profile to go along with good defense in the outfield. He is quick at the dish with a level path and the strength to drive the ball to the pull side with a solid lower half. He attacks the ball with bat whip through the zone and makes consistent, square contact to spray hits to all fields. In the OF, he takes efficient angles to the ball to extend his range and plays behind fly balls. His fields square with presented hands and has a quick, clean exchange to throw accurately to his target. Jimmie will provide impact contributions both at the plate and in the outfield.

09/07/2014 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA This athletic OF continues to develop. With the bat, he shows a closed setup with a solid base. He works back into a loaded position and waits for his pitch. Barrel delivery is level as he connects hitting the ball where it's pitched and using the entire field. A shorter/more direct swing path will result in increased power. In the OF, Jimmie works on the balls of his feet with a quick/active first step. He moves well to balls hit in the gap hustling into position behind it. Jimmie has skills and should fins success in the upcoming years.

01/13/2012 - Arizona National Spring Training - 2012 (Pre HS) Jimmie is an athletic/solid 2017 graduate who plays OF. He has good/loose arm action with backspin on his ball but he needs to strengthen his arm with long toss. In the outfield he has efficient footwork, he fields the ball out front, he takes good angles and he is a hustler. He is a very athletic fielder, he just needs to polish his fundamentals and communicate better on the field. At the plate Jimmie has an athletic setup, hands back load, very good bat speed and he makes hard contact. He needs to develop a smoother/better timed load (he is late), use his lower half more and generally refine his mechanics in order to utilize his athletic ability. Jimmie is an inquisitive kid who wants to learn. If he continues to work on his fundamentals and makes the adjustments at the plate he will find success in the future.

11/06/2011 - Interactive Video Program - Sacramento, CA Jimmie is a young, athletic OF with a solid frame. Defensively, Jimmie has a low approach, playable hands and feet, and he moves well to the ball. He makes plays, keeps ground balls in front, and he gathers himself well. Jimmie has a strong arm and throws on downhill plane to his target. At the plate, Jimmie has a square set-up, a proper load, and a short stride. He has quick hands, fast bat speed, and he shows good hip action. Jimmie is a solid young player and he can get even better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
