08/27/2017 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE JJ is an athletic 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, JJ has a loose arm action, he separates on-time, and he has good direction toward home plate. He gets extension on his pitches, finishes completely and competes in the zone. If JJ can avoid throwing across his body, improve his leg drive, and add arm strength, mound effectiveness will get better. At SS, JJ has fluid footwork, agile range, and soft hands. He takes good angles to field ground balls, shows a quick/clean exchange, and throws with accuracy from a quick arm action to his target. A quicker release and playing more through the ball can help INF skills get better. Offensively, JJ is an aggressive hitter with a square stride, fluid timing, and quick hands. He has fast bat speed, swings on a level plane, and can work the ball gap to gap. Added strength and more lower ½ will help hitting numbers further improve.
